Are you feeling guilty about something?

Guilt can be a healthy tool to help us make changes in our lives, but more often, guilt keeps us from making changes, because we don’t feel good enough or capable of making that change.  Unhealthy guilt creates a sense of shame, not just for what we have done, but for who we think we have become.  Shame takes over identity and not just actions.  You are not the sum total of your bad choices.  You are created with worth and value, no matter what you have done.

We have a Power greater than ourselves who paid for our guilt and frees us from our shame to live out a new identity.  Yes, it takes some time for some changes and you may still be struggling with that identity. But no, you do not have to keep living the same way and you can ask for and receive forgiveness and accept the identity of a loved child of God .  Don’t just take my word for it, here is what God says;
Psalm 103:10-12
“He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.”
