Fear or Reality?

August 21, 2020

Paul Bishop MA, LPC/S - Director

Sometimes when we are gripped with fear or overwhelmed with anxiety, that fear takes on a world of its own.  Often our minds create a greater issue with the thoughts that we struggle with than the reality that we live in.  There are times that our fear of a potential reality is greater than the actual reality that we fear.  This is not to say that there are not real challenges and struggles that you may be facing.  This is not to pretend that life is not hard or even overwhelming for you at times.  It is to remind you, however, to take the challenges you have one at a time.  God will give you strength for today, but not strength to handle a potential tomorrow that has not arrived yet.  Stay grounded in today.  Release your fears for tomorrow. Let go of the thoughts that take you to the "what ifs" and focus your energy on the "what is," knowing that if and when tomorrow's reality comes, you will have what you need then!  "...His mercies begin afresh each day". Lam. 3:23
