God is Lord Over All

This week as we inaugurate a new president amongst so much political division it is a great time to remind ourselves that no matter who is the leader of our country, God is still Lord over all and He is still in control. God says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” God is calling His people to humble themselves, pray, seek Him, and turn from their wicked ways. No matter what your views are, put them aside, pray, seek God, and allow Him to direct you. Instead of criticizing the president, our country, or our fellow Americans, pray for them! Now more than ever, God’s people need to be in prayer.
Also, check who you are putting your trust in. When you are overly concerned about the president, your trust may be put in the wrong place. A president, no matter how great, can’t heal our land, only God can so we have to put our trust in Him. If you are a child of God, you have been given a great gift: “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”. You are a child of God and you are loved, think about that for a minute. Your daddy is the creator of the world, the ruler of the universe, and you can come to Him at any time! As a child of God, we have nothing to fear. Whenever you begin to feel afraid or worried, turn those worries into a prayer. God loves you, He is not surprised by anything that is going on, and He hears you when you pray. God is going to heal our land, and until He does, He can hold and comfort you just like a loving Father!
