God’s Masterpiece

Today while I was having morning devotions, I glanced over at a cup filled with paint brushes and a thought occurred to me, “When people see a masterpiece no one thinks of the brushes that painted it.” The brushes sit in a container until the artist is ready to pick it up and use it for the purpose the artist has for it. Don’t get me wrong, I would imagine that if someone had a paintbrush that Michelangelo used to paint the Sistine Chapel it would be worth a great deal. However, that same brush in my hand would be worth less than the $4 I paid for it at Michael’s. My point being, it’s the artist that adds value to the instrument.
His word tells us that we are His Masterpiece created in Christ image for His good works that He has already prepared for us. We are His instruments. Our value comes from being in the Father’s hand. The Masterpiece is our story. Each brush stroke of your life is a part of His big picture that He has completed before time began. Not every stroke is clean and clear and looks good alone, however, every stroke has purpose and contributes to the glorious masterpiece that one day will be revealed.
The Bridge of Hope wants you to know, you are not alone. Sometimes the picture you are living is dark and overwhelming, however one day you will see clearly how the struggles you faced in life painted a picture that through God’s grace drew you closer to the One who loves you unconditionally, accepts you completely and will use you greatly for His glory.
