When you don’t think you can

Do you ever feel like there is nothing else that you can do?  You have reached a point where you are overwhelmed with what has not worked and you are consumed with regrets and disappointment over things you cannot change.  I am not going to lie to you and tell you that you can do something that you cannot, but let me help you focus for a minute on some things that you can do.  When you cannot see what is beyond the next step, you can still take that one step. And then, the next step….Until a path will become more clear.  When you cannot imagine life without someone or something that you are missing, you can pray for a vision for that which has not yet been but that still can be.  When you feel hopeless, you can call someone who can offer you their hope and strength.  When you cannot feel enough strength to tackle the impossible task before you, you can reach out an empty hand to someone who can put their hand in yours and pull you up to face the task together.  We have people who want to do that for you here at the Bridge of Hope or at Celebrate Recovery.  When you focus on all that you cannot do right now, it can be overwhelming.  Focus on one thing you can do today.  Choose hope! God said this in Isaiah 43: 19, “I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland!”
