Angel’s Wish

I love the music of Steven Curtis Chapman, and a while back, I heard a song by him that I had not heard before, one of his less popular songs called Angel’s Wish. You can listen to the music here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nPaVsTjQqM

I loved the song, and it got me thinking about how blessed we are to have experienced the love of God through the grace of Jesus. The music starts talking about angels and how they have experienced things we have not, like seeing God’s emotion during creation and the flood, hearing His voice, and being in Heaven. Then, it points out that an angel will never experience the grace a human can. On earth, we see the depths of sin and the problems it can cause. However, through a relationship with Jesus, we can feel the unconditional love of the God of the universe, who wants a relationship with us despite our sins. Through Jesus, we can have our sins forgiven, our lives transformed, and become a child of God. There is no greater love than that, and we can experience it.

In addition to being able to experience the greatest love ever, we hope to be in Heaven one day with God forever. At that point, we will see His face and hear His voice. Until we get there, we can be thankful to have experienced the love of God and let that motivate us to share with others. Then they experience the love, too, and we can see the transformation God can make in their life. “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called Children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1).
