Flowers

Flowers are such a cool part of God’s creation. So much detail, variety, and beauty for our enjoyment. They are wild, cultivated, bold, and delicate. Each spring I have grandiose ideas about what flowers I want to plant in my yard. I look at pictures or see other yards with gardens full of gorgeous blooms planted in artistic designs, and I imagine my backyard bursting forth in the same way, then spending time immersed in that beauty. The reality is - that I am an experimental gardener. I buy what I can afford (often shopping the clearance racks at Lowes) and put flowers together that I hope will grow well. It is not perfect, and for the first month or so the gardens look sort of sparse, not like the pictures! They will get there though, growing and filling in. It is kind of like people. God created each one of us with special detail, variety, and design. We grow in ourselves, and those around us compliment and contrast to bring out even more of our beauty. Burst forth, and enjoy spring.
