Look Up!

As I was working on some continuing education credits to renew my licensure as a counselor I heard once again the interesting fact that a person can shift their mood by simply lifting their eyes upward. When we are sad, we tend to look downward and lower our heads. A quick way to shift your mind from a sad and overwhelming thought is the simple act of looking up! How interesting, considering this that in Psalm 3:3, in several translations it states of God that β€œHe is the lifter of my head!” God sees you looking downward, giving up, diverting your gaze in shame. He knows you have lost your joy and are struggling to look up. Patiently and gently, God reaches over and seeks to lift your head to help you turn your eyes upwards. No matter what you are going through, take a minute and look up. God knows what works. After all, He is the Creator!
