Have you ever heard or said to someone you have met for the first time, “Hello, my name is _____ and I am a ______”? How would you fill in those blanks? Many people define themselves by what they do, I am a teacher, doctor, counselor, or what has been done to them, I am a victim of child abuse, cancer survivor, or by their brokenness, I am an addict, alcoholic, unlovable. An individual’s belief in what defines them will determine their mindsets, attitudes, and behaviors. If you are a child of God, a believer in Jesus Christ, you have been REDEFINED! The more we realize that the more we will live in freedom. We live out of our beliefs! 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” He will take that old identity that was defined by sin, brokenness, failures and redefine it into, I am blessed, adopted, chosen, loved, accepted, redeemed and forgiven (Ephesians 1). If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, He wants to give you a new identity, one filled with unconditional love! If you do know Jesus as your Savior, do you believe He has redefined you based on His grace, love and mercy? Choose today to believe in how Jesus has defined you as a beloved child of God!
