Thoughts!

We call our blog thoughts of hope, because they are thoughts from some of our counselors at the Bridge of Hope. Hope is so important right now! But to build a bridge of hope from feelings of helplessness or despair to a life of hope and faith requires changing our thoughts. You cannot change your feelings, but you can change your focus. You change your focus by changing which thoughts you dwell on, and which thoughts you let go of. Some thoughts are automatic. Unfortunately, many of the automatic thoughts that we deal with are the negative ones. It takes work to change them, but it is possible. Prepare some positive statements, based on truth and when you have that negative thought such as not being good enough, or not being capable, or that nobody cares, replace it with a statement of truth such as I am created with value, I am loved by my Savior, or I can get through this! When despair is taking over, tackle your despair with thoughts of hope! You are stuck feeling what you feel because you have allowed yourself to keep thinking what you think.
